    Hi Colin,

Interesting post – the kitchen pic is a creative and apt metaphor for your discussion on open. You are much more articulate than you give yourself credit for.

I really like the example here of looking behind closed doors and finding things that you had forgotten about, or things that you might not want everyone to see. It brings to mind, for me, the idea that by opening up what I do I can get feedback on what, for me, may otherwise be blind spots–things I’ve forgotten about but just keep doing because they feel right given that I’ve always done them. But when I open up not just my finished products but also the processes, the drafts, the not-yet-done stuff so people can really get into the nuts and bolts of what I’m doing (if they want!) then they can point out things that I just don’t even see anymore. Because sometimes, even if you look into the cupboards yourself, there are things that have been there so long you don’t even see them anymore. But others might notice and point them out to you, and then you can decide if what you are doing still makes sense to you!
